NORTH CYPRUS CAR RENTAL TERMS

When renting a car in North Cyprus you should be aware that, any car rented in North Cyprus, can not be taken to South Cyprus. However if you do hire a car in South Cyprus and travel to North Cyprus, it will only be insured on a third party (3rd Party) basis, and no first party cover is provided under any circumstance. Moreover it is our advice that you hire a car in part of Cyprus, that you wish to visit. This is also a preferred procedure among majority of our customers.

Payment for North Cyprus car rentals

Reservation fee for North Cyprus Car Hire

You pay 20% reservation fee at time of booking for your North Cyprus car hire, this fee is completely refundable until you have a confirmation of booking through one of our rental partners or within 6 days of payment. However if the rental has been confirmed and no cancellation request has been made 14 days prior from the start of rental period, there is no refund of reservation fee.

Remaining Payment

The remainder 80% of the rental fee can be paid on arrival via credit card, cheque or as cash in Turkish Lira, Pound Sterling, United States Dollar or Euro. Please note that we are the ONLY COMPANY which charges EXACT AMOUNT through our Multi Currency Mobile Credit Card Point of Sale equipment at 0% commission. Meaning you can pay exact amount in GBP, USD or EURO while not worrying about conversion rates, bank fee or commissions!

Driving license and minimum age to drive in Northern Cyprus

Minimum age for car rental in Northern Cyprus is 25 years. All International and national driving licenses are accepted. Renter at time of taking possession of rental vehicles must have a valid driving license.

Additional driver policy

Additional drivers are free of charge with North Cyprus car hire portal, provided the age of the additional driver is 25 or over. We, nor any of our car rental partners charge any extra fee for additional drivers.

Baby seats

There are limited number of baby seats available, which are provided free of charge. However you need to select this option in advance through our booking system, and we will confirm their availability.

Ercan Airport Surcharge & Delivery Fee

Most airports around the world charge airport surcharge for car rentals, however this does not happen at Ercan Airport. Delivery of any car rental at Ercan Airport is free of charge with North Cyprus car hire website, provided you book for a minimum of five days.

Please also note that car rental firms in Northern Cyprus are not allowed to maintain offices inside the premises of Ercan Airport. Therefore it is necessary to pre-book a car rental, if you wish to pick it up at Ercan Airport. If you pre-book your car hire in Northern Cyprus with us, one of our representative will be there, waiting for you with your rental vehicle.

Minimum rental period for car hire in Northern Cyprus

Minimum rental period with North Cyprus car hire portal is 3 days. This minimum period of three days is not imposed by North Cyprus car hire portal, nor by car hire firms in Northern Cyprus, rather it is a requirement imposed by Car Insurance firms of North Cyprus who will not insure any car with rental below three days.

Fuel Policy

Fuel policy is simple, leave it as you find it. However if you request that we provide you with a full tank at time of rental, please choose this option through our car rental booking system.

Traffic Fines Policy

All traffic fines incurred during the rental period are the renters responsibility, and in case of multiple drivers, the one who has signed the rental contract will be held responsible for the fines.

Rental Extension Policy

Should you wish to extend your car rental in North Cyprus beyond the initial rental agreement, it is important that North Cyprus car hire portal or its rental partners be informed in advance, before the expiry of the agreement. After checking our records we will inform you of availability and you can then decide to extend accordingly.
